V2X is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to support the Directed Energy Weapon Systems Division (E10) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) that is responsible for working on developmental activities, testing, management, and implementation of Directed Energy (DE) weapon systems including pulsed power, High Power Microwave (HPM), High Energy Laser (HEL), and other related systems; and operations, deployment and sustainment of these DE systems and capabilities for the Military Services in support of current and future military operations. U.S. Citizenship and an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance is required. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: This Senior RF Engineer role supports the following DETO activities: System Prototype, and Field Test and Evaluation Support (Development, Build and Assembly, Integration, Maintenance / Repair / Operation). Directed Energy Spectrum Supportability - Conducting Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) interoperability evaluations to determine which incumbent systems are impacted by the DE systems. Directed Energy Logistics - aspects of receiving, installing, and shipping of DE-related items / systems from NSWCDD. Material & Equipment Directly Used: RF measurement equipment, RF systems and platforms. Working Environment: On site in an office / lab environment at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Physical Activities: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically. Qualifications Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline. Required Experience: Five (5) years of experience in design, development and implementation of analog and digital hardware and software related to RF systems. Three (3) years of experience in the areas of signal generation, vacuum devices, high powered RF systems, digital signal processing, bench and/or system level testing of electronics components for U.S. Navy / Joint DE systems including pulsed power, RF, Radar, EW, Laser, and CIED systems and components. Experience with RF system and platform integration is highly desirable. Skills & Technology Used: Typical RF laboratory equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, attenuators, cabling, etc.).
