Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE: Consulting Services Group (CSG) is seeking a highly skilled NOC Engineer to support an enterprise Network Operations Center (NOC). A successful candidate will manage and maintain networks, and interface with customers to resolve enterprise issues. Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities: Performing research, analysis, and isolation of alarms that require escalation, additional research, and/or triage.
Performs initial fault isolation and actively troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
Handle inquiries received from customers and follow through resolution.
Participates in tracking and prioritization of ticket handling, including inter-shift turnover.
Participate in on-call rotation and escalated issues.
Effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously through effective work prioritization.
Assist in creating and maintaining operations documentation including support guides, knowledge base articles, and procedures.
Draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
Provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Minimum Qualifications: Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active US Government security clearance.
Trouble ticket management experience required; with additional focus areas in conflict resolution and problem solving.
Previous experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Operations environment.
Operating systems knowledge - Linux/Windows/VMware.
Familiar with TCP/IP Layers 1-3, internet protocols, SolarWinds and Splunk
Education: Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience or 6-10 years' experience in a NOC. Desired Qualifications: Certifications desired: CompTIA, Net+, Security+, Cisco CCNA
Other: Work Environment Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives. Some travel to data centers required. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Travel: Minimal local travel in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Employee Status: Full-Time Job Location: On site Herndon, Virginia. Remote telework is not available. Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
