Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Configuration Manager to join our team to establis h configuration management documentation and procedures and authorize the r e le ase o f d o c um entation and software in support o f large-scale government programs . As a C onfiguration M anager , you will establish , develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software life cycle including software development, migration, deployment , and security. You will also provide subject matter guidance to other team members involved in the software management lifecycle. This position requires 25% on-site time in King George VA and travel in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in C omputer S cience , Information Systems, or a related field or relevant work experience - Secret security clearance - Six years of Configuration Manage ment experience or related field, preferably in the government sector - Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications - Experience managing complex IT projects and familiarity with risk and issue management - Strong analytical skills and experience with configuration management tools Configuration Management certification desired Responsibilities: - Develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software lifecycle - Provide subject matter advice and leadership for all aspects of configuration management and report on configuration management activities - Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessment, and version contr ol - Establish a documentation repository to track and maintai n records - Lead software and code reviews and ensure the configuration management plan is executed - Define provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits - Foste r con tinuous improvement - Authorizes software release s As a Configuration Manager , y ou will play a critical role in ensuring the integ rity of program configuration auditing, security, and tracking at every stage of the process to ensure robust and s t ab l e s y s tem s in support of critical large-scale government programs . You will work in a dyna mic environment with various project stakeholders .
