Job Title: Marine Electrician
Location: BAE Systems - USS Kearsarge Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Marine Electricians for a long-term project at BAE Systems, working on the USS Kearsarge. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in electrical hook-ups, along with the necessary skills to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Responsibilities: Perform electrical hook-up of systems and components on the USS Kearsarge.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to blueprints and technical diagrams.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using testing devices and tools.
Ensure all installations meet safety standards and comply with the shipyard regulations.
Use various hand tools, power tools, and basic hook-up equipment (multimeters, wire strippers, etc.).
Work independently or with a team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment aboard the vessel.
Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years of Marine Electrician experience, specifically with electrical hook-ups.
Must possess basic electrical hook-up tools (multimeters, wire cutters, wire strippers, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with shipyard safety standards and procedures.
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with marine electrical systems.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, as required by shipyard environments.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working on Navy vessels or similar projects.
Familiarity with BAE Systems' shipyard operations and procedures.
OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.
Benefits: Pay is $27-28/hr
Long-term project with potential for additional assignments upon completion.
