Requisition #: 618 Job Title: Director of BD Location: 11600 Sunrise Valley Dr, Suite 440 Reston, Virginia 20191 Clearance Level: Active DoD - Top Secret Required Certification(s): • Bachelor's Degree SUMMARY The Strategic Programs team is focused on maintaining and achieving the company strategic business vision. Team members serve to help capture new or existing business opportunities and oversee all aspects of business development and capture within the company. The team maximizes the and aspects of the Agile Defense company culture to propose and deliver against critical Department of Defense, Federal, and Civilian agency mission goals and objectives. The Business Development (BD) Director will lead BD and Capture efforts consisting of a full range of activities including external business development, opportunity identification and qualification, and traditional capture management. The ideal candidate will be high energy and motivated by working with bright, driven people in a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture, independent, self-starting, and be able to stay calm under the pressures of multiple deadlines, possessing good multi-tasking skills. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain current client relationship and identify areas for potential clients • Contact potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them • Develop new sales areas and improving sales through various methods • Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive • Operate a variety of Business Intelligence tools to monitor competitor and industry news, develop target company profiles, source reports and information and issue routine briefings to management staff • Respond to Request for Information (RFI) notices and develop/populate proposal templates • Participate in or facilitate business process modeling & research efforts • Conduct market analysis • Develop Price to Win (PTW) analysis for opportunities • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, symposia, and other venues for information gathering and networking • Generate plans for business development offerings to satisfy emerging customer requirements • Conduct competitive intelligence development thorough understanding of the federal contracting arena, to include large and small businesses • Create and maintain databases; enter and retrieve data; analyze, create and present reports from databases, forms and questionnaires, monitor record keeping procedures for accuracy, and compile data; review and prepare reports and debriefings QUALIFICATIONS Required Certifications • Bachelor's Degree Education, Background, and Years of Experience • Minimum of 5 years of working experience with business development, opportunity capture, or proposal support. ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills • Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Skills • Experience pursuing and winning work within the Federal, Civilian, Department of Defense, and/or Intelligence arenas. WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions • Remote Support with 10%-20% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Strength Demands • Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
