Job Description:

As a Network Architect, you will join the Client's Enterprise Architecture team within the Information Technology Division, supporting strategic planning, design, and long-term vision to ensure network solutions align with organizational goals. This role requires configuring networks to allow secure, efficient access to applications, data, and tools for all end users, implementing networks that meet strict security standards, and overseeing hardware installation and configuration. Documentation throughout the design and deployment process is essential, serving as a guide for future enhancements or maintenance. You will also provide technical guidance, establish roadmaps, and implement standards and best practices for networking.

Key Responsibilities:

Document comprehensive network designs integrating multiple network technologies, such as LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and VPNs, to support business operations and communication needs.

Design and document the entire network implementation process.

Monitor network performance, addressing latency issues and security concerns as needed.

Perform regular network upgrades to enhance efficiency.

Create documentation throughout the design and deployment processes for future reference.

Develop patterns and standards for all network designs.

Analyze data traffic and system performance to identify necessary future upgrades.

Collaborate with IT staff and third-party vendors to meet network requirements.

Research and assess new technologies for potential adoption.

Define operations and applications for multisite networks.

Train, mentor, and transfer knowledge to the extended team.

Manage highly complex projects that require deep knowledge across specialized architecture domains and networking layers.

Align network architecture strategy with business objectives.

Define, explain, and advocate for technology strategy.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

Extensive experience in designing network solutions with technologies like LANs, WANs, VPNs, and wireless networks.

Proven expertise in network documentation, design, and performance monitoring.

Experience in network upgrade processes for enhanced efficiency and security.

Strong analytical skills for data traffic and system performance assessment.

Knowledge of multisite network operations and software applications.

Ability to research emerging network technologies and assess them for organizational needs.

Effective collaboration skills with IT teams and third-party vendors.

Demonstrated ability to develop patterns, standards, and best practices for network designs.

Background in training and mentoring IT staff to transfer technical skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with advanced experience in networking architecture.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
