Position Summary:
The Discovery department is looking for a talented and creative hands-on experimental biologist to study drugs with novel mechanisms in the inflammatory and autoimmune disease space. Core responsibilities for this position include the development and implementation of biochemical, immunological, functional, or cellular test methods to study the pharmacology and mechanism of action of novel test compounds.

Who is Omeros?
Omeros is an innovative biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications targeting immunologic disorders including complement-mediated diseases, as well as cancers and addictive and compulsive disorders. Funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Omeros' lead phosphodiesterase 7 inhibitor OMS527 is in clinical development for the treatment of cocaine use disorder and, in addition, is being developed as a therapeutic for other addictions as well as for a major complication of treatment for movement disorders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designs, adapts and develops fit-for-purpose immunological, functional, and cellular assays tailored to meet the specific needs of drug discovery and early development projects
- Implements bench-scale testing of compounds
- Transfers methods to high-throughput test lab as needed
- Develops bioanalytical methods for the quantification of biological analytes/biomarkers in biological fluids and analyzes samples collected from preclinical or clinical studies
- Maintains meticulous and detailed method and data documentations in electronic lab notebooks and other documents
- Critically evaluates and interprets data and presents results at the group and department level
- Collaboratively contributes toward advancing new therapeutic modalities in a matrix environment
Education, Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
- With a life sciences background, minimum education requirements include either a BS degree with a minimum of 8 years) of relevant industry experience; a MS degree with (4 years) of relevant industry experience; a PhD with 2 years of relevant experience; (level will be based on relevant years of experience, skills, and knowledge the candidate has)
- Documented experience with establishing, evaluating, implementing and trouble shooting of immunological, functional, or cellular test methods
- Proficient in the use of standard immunoassay platforms, instrumentation and software (Luminex, Electrochemiluminescence, flow cytometry)
- Proficient in the use of standard data capture, analysis and presentation software (excel, GraphPad)
- Prior experience in an analytical or bioanalytical production lab a plus, but not required

Compensation and Benefits
Omeros is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package designed to support the lives of our employees and their families. The wage scale for the Principal Research Associate / Scientist I, In vitro Pharmacology role is, Principal Research Associate $85,000 - $106,000 & Scientist I $105,000 - $130,000. Salaries will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Employees accrue three weeks of vacation and 80 hours of sick time on an annual basis and receive twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
