Position: Field Engineer

Experience: 2-5 years

Description:

One of my reputable clients in the West Virginia market is looking for multiple candidates with a background in heavy civil construction. If you have hands-on experience with either road, bridge or WWTP work, this would be the ideal opportunity to really be apart of a solid team and to play a key role in the planning, execution, and management of these types of projects.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the planning and coordination of heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on bridge work.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of design plans.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and surveys to assess project progress and identify any issues or challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and construction crews to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.
  • Perform quality control checks to maintain high construction standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and reporting variances.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical problems and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, promoting a culture of zero incidents through proactive risk assessment and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members as needed.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in heavy civil construction.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a demonstrated focus on bridge work.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in varying weather conditions.
