Job Summary

The Pipeline Integrity Engineer provides subject matter expertise, engineering support and technical direction to the supporting work groups. This position provides vital support to various WEC utilities within Wisconsin and Michigan. This role will be focused on implementing the risk management programs for the company's gas transmission pipelines in accordance with 49 CFR 192, Subpart O.

Job Responsibilities

Administer We Energies and WPS transmission integrity management program requirements.

  • Review of gas transmission lines to determine high and medium consequence areas.
  • Maintain gas transmission integrity risk model and perform risk analysis.
  • Perform field defect evaluations.
  • Complete Assessment Summary Packages for updating GIS and retention in Integrity Management Files.
  • Support pipeline assessments - Inline Inspection (ILI), External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA), and Pressure Testing.
  • Data collection and integration - transmission patrols, main data collection forms, corrosion and leak data, etc.
  • Prepare required Annual Reports.
  • Provide support for WEC Energy Group integrity best practice standardization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 0-2 yrs. relevant engineering experience (internship/co-op experience may be included as relevant engineering).
  • Must meet company standards for driving and maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of prior integrity management experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of:
    • 49 CFR 192 Subpart O.
    • ASME B31.8S.
    • ASME B31G.
    • NACE SP0102.
    • NACE SP0502.
    • API Standard 1163.
