Overview:
HD Biosciences, Inc. (US), a WuXi AppTec Company, is seeking a highly motivated and established scientist with deep and broad expertise in in vitro biology and cell science including cell line engineering, iPSC and other disease relevant in vitro models to support from early target validation to SAR exploration and lead identification to join us. The Principle Scientist will lead a team in San Diego site to provide scientific services and solutions to our customers' drug discovery research needs.
Responsibilities:
• Manages and leads in vitro scientific team to execute a variety of scientific projects to ensure successful execution of projects and best quality services.
• Builds and grows a high-performance team, provides effective mentorship and performance management.
• Assist senior manager to delivery of financial and productivity goals.
• Provides scientific direction and strategy to identify and implement emerging key technologies to expand service capabilities and fulfill customer needs in cutting-edge drug discoveries.
• Responsible for coordinating efforts and facilitates communication to ensure alignment between different units and our customers.
• Provides support and participates in business development activities to promote services and engage new customers.
• Ensures operation compliance of EHS rules and government regulations for all members of the in vitro Biology team. Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D in Molecular biology, Cell biology or related field with a minimum of 5 years of Biotech/Pharmaceutical/CRO working experience.
• Experienced with leading and managing team.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Demonstrated broad expertise in various in vitro biology areas.
• Expertise in genome editing using CRISPR for cell engineering and extensive experience in iPSC & ESC research.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in target discovery, oncology and immunology.
• Familiarity with cellular models with human PBMC and whole blood for autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases research.
• Knowledge of in vitro pharmacology including assay development, validation and compound screening.
• Experienced with managing team(s) to include junior scientists and research associates. Demonstrated ability to guide groups through team change and growth.
• Strong communication skills with collaborators and clients, and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
• Ability to work effectively in team settings, build collaborative relationships with customers, managements, and peers from diverse background.
• Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Anticipated base pay range: $124,806 to $162,366
