Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Continuity Planning (BCP) specialist. As a BCP specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive business continuity plans to ensure our organization's resilience in the face of potential disruptions or disasters. This role requires a strong understanding of risk assessment, crisis management, and continuity strategies.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or related field or related work experience

    Preferred Education:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience (6+ years) in business continuity planning and crisis management

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and frameworks to develop a robust BCP

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions

  • Experience conducting risk assessments, business impact analyses, and developing risk mitigation strategies

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing business continuity plans, including crisis communication protocols and disaster recovery strategies

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences

  • Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), MBCI (Member of the Business Continuity Institute), or equivalent are preferred

    Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in business continuity software/tools is desirable

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards

    Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance business continuity strategies and plans based on industry best practices and organizational needs

  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and their impact on business operations

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish business continuity objectives, policies, and procedures

  • Design and facilitate business continuity exercises, drills, and simulations to test the effectiveness of plans

  • Provide guidance and support to business units in developing their continuity plans and ensuring alignment with overall organizational strategies
