Our client delivers top-tier accounting and financial services to the Michiana Area; including small businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals. They are currently seeking a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team.

Job Summary: As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial data. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our clients by providing essential bookkeeping services and supporting our accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and submit periodic financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Maintain and update client records, ensuring all financial information is organized and accessible.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for clients.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Support the preparation of tax filings by providing necessary financial information and documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with accountants and other team members to ensure seamless financial management for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably within an accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
