Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for all technical support related to manufacturing cable and harness products, including engineering activities and serving as the primary interface for internal and external customers. Continuously drives improvement through creative and proactive contributions, process development, root cause analysis, systematic problem solving, and metrics.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develops programs for production equipment.
  • Provides required information to the Senior Design Engineer/Integrator for Cable Block Diagram development in the TDP.
  • Assigns cable numbers, maintains Configuration Management, and updates documentation accordingly.
  • Creates and maintains routings, Bills of Material, drawings, assembly and inspection instructions, visual aids, tooling, and fixturing for production orders.
  • Interprets customer and technical specifications, drawings, and engineering instructions, and communicates requirements to the factory.
  • Analyzes processes, implements improvements to reduce costs or increase quality, and evaluates project scope for labor and material needs.
  • Develops and documents operating procedures and work instructions to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Acts as a technical liaison between program managers, customers, and internal departments for technical problems, schedule changes, and material availability.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5-6+ years of experience in manufacturing electronic products, with flexibility for candidates with a background in wire/cable harnesses.
  • Strong electro-mechanical background.
  • Preferred experience in contract or government contract manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and quoting is a plus.
  • IPC 620 certification or experience is preferred.
