Pediatric Behavior Technician

Role: Pediatric Behavior Technician Pay: $19 - $30 hourly (based on experience, education, specialized certifications, and willingness to work flexible hours)
The Pediatric Behavior Technician delivers specialized, child-centered behavioral support to minors with severe challenging behaviors, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and complex mental health diagnoses.
Location: Brooklyn Park
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and implement advanced behavioral interventions for children and adolescents with severe challenging behaviors.
Conduct age-appropriate Functional Behavior Assessments and implement complex Behavior Intervention Plans.
Apply pediatric-focused Positive Support Strategies and crisis intervention techniques.
Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform treatment decisions, considering developmental stages.
Manage crisis situations involving severe aggression or self-injurious behaviors in minors.
Implement engaging reinforcement systems tailored to children and teens (e.g., token economies, level systems).
Collaborate with BCBAs, parents, schools, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and refine intervention strategies.
Promote age-appropriate community integration and skill development.
Maintain detailed behavioral documentation and progress reports, adhering to privacy regulations for minors.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years experience working with children/adolescents exhibiting severe challenging behaviors.
Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology, Special Education, Behavior Analysis, or related field preferred.
Extensive experience in pediatric crisis prevention and intervention techniques (e.g., CPI with focus on children, MANDT, or similar certifications).
Proven expertise in implementing advanced behavioral support strategies for minors.
Experience with severe self-injurious behaviors, aggression, and complex pediatric cases.
Strong skills in child-focused Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan development.
Proficiency in age-appropriate data collection methods and behavioral data analysis.
Thorough understanding of ethical considerations and rights restrictions in behavioral interventions for minors.
In-depth knowledge of MN Statute 245D, IDEA, and regulations applicable to behavioral services for children.
Ability to pass an extensive background check, including additional clearances for working with minors.
Valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record.
Flexibility to work in various settings (home, school, community) and adapt to changing client needs.
Availability to work after-school hours, evenings, and weekends.
