The Material and Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials for achievement of production and quality goals, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff. Monitoring and enforcing compliance with company policies and safety regulations to warrant the safety of all warehouse employees. Usage of engagement practices with direct reports such as clear and effective communication along with career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily material management operations within the plant through the supervision of 30 associates

  • Achievement of operational KPIs, e.g., safety, quality, delivery, and waste

  • Manage staffing for receiving area to meet ongoing production requirements and proactively escalate staffing shortages/surpluses

  • Assess skill sets, current and future development needs of direct reports, and take steps to mentor and develop appropriately

  • Manage development, training, and implementation of standardized work

  • Support and train team to inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions

  • Conduct timely and complete performance evaluations of direct associates, as well as those reporting under your indirect supervision

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals

  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements, and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

  • Coordinate communication / documentation between shifts

  • Lead general problem-solving activities with intent to solve the problem and countermeasure

  • Execute routine inspection of the production area to review status of safety and quality compliance

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of assigned equipment and operational assignments

  • Ensure compliance for plant safety and environmental regulations

  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained to meet high equipment efficiency targets

  • Coordinate any repairs with maintenance

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or equivalent related experience

  • 6+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position

  • Experience working with receiving and shipping operations

  • Experience with, and willing to be certified on, forklift equipment

  • Experience with leading direct reports

  • Project management experience

    Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software

  • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with other departments

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills

    Additional requirements:

  • Comply with company and area Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

  • Strong interest and ability to assist in developmental growth of direct reports

  • Adhere to general, and position-specific, dress code requirements

  • Able to work effectively in both office and production environments

  • Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations

  • Flexibility to work adjusted shifts, as necessary

  • This role requires up to 10% travel (domestic and/or international)
