Defense Security Enterprise & Strategy Support We are looking for a skilled professional to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security (OUSD(I&S . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security by shaping critical personnel security policies and processes within the Department of Defense (DoD). You'll play a key role in safeguarding classified information and supporting initiatives that defend against insider threats. Why This Role Matters: You'll work directly on vital security policies, provide strategic input on personnel security processes, and help enhance the efficiency of security systems that protect national interests. Location: Pentagon, VA - Full-time, onsite Key Responsibilities: •Support and develop DoD-level personnel security policies, including background investigations, adjudications, and continuous evaluations. •Interpret and coordinate on policies related to national security positions, access to classified information, and DoD facilities. •Drive initiatives to enhance personnel security processes, including implementing electronic fingerprinting systems and transitioning from legacy systems to the Joint Verification System (JVS). •Provide oversight on investigative services, billing, adjudication policies, and compliance with the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. •Research and participate in meetings to inform policy development and provide expert background information. •Develop and manage up to 52 staff packages (Action and Info Memos) annually, ensuring compliance with office requirements. What You Bring: •Active TS/SCI Clearance •At least 5 years of security policy or operational experience as a staff action officer in a relevant DoD or Intelligence Community setting. •Experience with DoD personnel security policies and procedures, including investigations and adjudications. •Demonstrated expertise in policy development, including drafting, formatting, reviewing, and reconciling inputs for DoD directives and instructions. •Experience coordinating with various DoD services and agencies to resolve complex personnel security issues. •Proven ability to develop and track performance metrics and assessments. •Strong writing and project management skills. •Ability to support core working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
